FIBARK
"America's Greatest Whitewater Festival"
Tincup rapid almost got the best of “Purple Haze” when the left side of the boat was
on the right side and the captain was swimming behind!!!
Then came Cottonwood Rapids with a wall of water, “
Smack!” then a giant hole,
Suck!” Then a big boulder, “Oh S_ _ _ _!” Team Purple Haze narrowly escaped with
a quick 90 degree maneuver to hit a narrow chute while paddling backwards.
4 hours and 4 minutes later the finish line was crossed in Coxapaxi where Team
Purple Haze” became the 1st place team in the Master’s Raft Division.

At the starting line, team Purple Haze started last, but sprinted out to the faster
Whitewater while missing the larger holes to take the lead.
It was short lived however As the 14 year reining overall champs overtook team
“Purple Haze” while they we were waving to the cameras & spectators on the bridge
overhead, (Gotta smile for the cameras!?!!!)
Only 25 ¾ more miles, Go Team, Go!
